The Song Dynasty can be divided into 2 periods; Northern (N) Song and Southern (S) Song. During the N Song, 960-1,127AD, the imperial capital was located at KaiFeng. During the S Song, 1,127 - 1,279AD, the imperial capital was located further south at Linan (present day Hangzhou). During the N Song Dynasty, many coins were minted with different beautiful Chinese calligraphies in clerical style, running style, seal style, and cursive or grass style.
